action

The plot begins with the expropriation and expulsion of the Indians from Oklahoma Territory for a ridiculous payment. After the displacement, the Oklahoma Land Run begins in 1893. Settlers and adventurers tear the land under the nail and try to enforce their idea of civilization. The criminal saloon owner Whip McCord ruled and terrorized with his gang an entire small town, later Tulsa , and turned it into a den of sin . John Kincaid and his son Ned settle nearby. Both want to rid the city of crime and establish a civilization. John is running for mayor and Ned for sheriff. McCord has John arrested and lynched. Jim "Oklahoma Kid" Kincaid, who doesn't take the law too seriously and doesn't actually follow any moral rules, comes to town to work with Ned to avenge his father. During a showdown in the saloon, Ned is seriously injured by McCord, but is able to kill him, which saves his brother's life. Ned forgives Jim and dies in his arms. The Oklahoma Kid marries Jane, Judge Hardwick's daughter, with whom he has long been in love.

criticism

"An action-packed western that relocates the plot patterns and actors of the American gangster film of the 1930s to the pioneering days."

Dennis Schwartz wrote about the film that even an A cast would not turn a B western into an A western.
