After the beginning of the Second World War , the Soviet Union occupied the area and in January 1940 made the place the capital of the Oleksandrija Rajon of the same name . After Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941, the place came under German rule until 1944 (incorporated into the Reichskommissariat Ukraine ), but was annexed again by the Soviet Union after the war and added to the Ukrainian SSR . At the end of 1962, Oleksandrija Raion was dissolved, annexed to Rivne Raion and Oleksandrija remained a simple village.
