Olesya Vladimirovna Belugina ( Russian Олеся Владимировна Белугина ; * 2. January 1984 in Penza or Serdobsk ) is a Russian rhythmic gymnast and Olympic champion .
Belugina took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , where she won the gold medal in rhythmic gymnastics in a group all- around together with Jelena Mursina , Olga Glazkich , Natalja Lavrowa , Tatiana Kurbakowa and Jelena Possewina, ahead of Italy and Bulgaria.
At the World Championships between 2001 and 2005, she won a total of 5 gold and 1 silver medal. At the European Championships between 2001 and 2006, she won a total of 7 gold medals.
Belugina ended her sporting career in 2006 and has since worked as a coach for the Russian national team. In 2004 she successfully completed her studies at the State Pedagogical University in Penza . Belugina is married and has one son. When she married, she took her husband's name and is now Bogunowa.
