Olga Nikolajewna Kaniskina ( Russian Ольга Николаевна Каниськина ; born January 19, 1985 in Napolnaya Tawla ) is a former Russian walker . She was Olympic champion as well as world and European champion.

Career

Kaniskina was second in the 20 km walk at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg . She won gold at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . At the national championship on February 23, 2008, she set a new world record in walking 20 km. When she won the Olympic Games on August 21, 2008, she set a new Olympic record .

doping

Shortly before the home world championships in Moscow in 2013, she was surprisingly removed from the Russian squad and in November she announced her resignation. In January 2015, she was banned for three years and two months retrospectively to October 15, 2012, due to anomalies in her biological passport , and all results between July 15, 2009 and September 16, 2009 as well as between July 30, 2011 and September 8, 2012. November 2011 deleted, including the 2009 and 2011 world championship titles. On March 24, 2016, all results between August 2009 and October 15, 2012 were revoked . She lost the silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the gold medal at the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona.

Olga Kaniskina is a member of the Russian army and, in Viktor Chogin, had the same coach as Olympic champion Valeri Bortschin . At a height of 1.61 m, she has a competition weight of 45 kg.
