The Oligoclada walkeri is one of the 24 dragonfly species of the genus Oligoclada from the subfamily Brachydiplacinae . Construction of the Imago

The abdomen measures between 16.4 and 18.8 millimeters in Oligoclada walkeri males. In females, it varies in length from 16.0 to 22.8 millimeters. The abdomen is reddish brown in females. From the sixth segment onwards , the sides become increasingly dark in color and from the ninth segment onwards are completely black, as are the abdominal appendages . The females therefore have the same coloration as those of Oligoclada abbreviata . While the thorax in the males is metallic blue in color and slightly dusty, in the females it is dark red-brown and becomes even darker towards the front. In the females, too, it looks as if it is covered with dust. There are also four yellow stripes on the thorax of the females, with one of the stripes sometimes breaking up into two points. The transparent hind wings measure between 20.3 and 22.4 millimeters in the males. The hind wings of the females are about the same size with 21.0 to 22.8 millimeters. There is a small dark spot at the base. The wing mark ( pterostigma ) reaches 1.6 to 2.3 millimeters in the males and 1.9 to 2.3 millimeters in the females. The number of antenodal veins is nine and a half or ten and a half in the fore wing, seven to eight in the hind wing. The last Antenodalader in the front wing is incomplete, so it does not extend from the Costalader to the Radiusader . There are eight to ten or eight to twelve post-nodal loaders.
