Oliver Mansour Jackson-Cohen (born October 24, 1986 in Westminster , London ) is a British actor and model .

Life

Oliver Jackson-Cohen was born in Westminster , London , in October 1986 to the fashion designer Betty Jackson and David Cohen . Because of his French origins, he attended the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in London. Even before he graduated from school, he decided to turn his passion for acting into a profession. After finishing school he began studying French literature , which he broke off after two weeks. After that he worked for a florist.

Due to a role in a play at the Lyric Theater , he was discovered by an acting agent who persuaded him to participate in auditions for a drama school in New York . He then studied together with Michael Luggio at the Malisa Theater Academy . He also visited the Youngblood Theater Company on weekends . Jackson-Cohen also worked as a model .

In his private life he was in a relationship with actress Ellen Woglom .

Career

He made his acting debut at the age of 15 in the television series Hollyoaks . This was followed by roles in the ITV television series The Time of Your Life , in Lark Rise to Candleford and in the first episode of Bonekickers . In 2008 and 2009 he was in the films The Rooftopsmiths and at Life and Death 17 at the side of Jennifer Lawrence and Richard Gere to see.

The following year he took on the role of Damon in the feature film Crazy About You . As a " killer " he starred alongside Dwayne Johnson in the action film Faster . For the four-part web series Will & Kate: Before Happily Ever After , he parodied Prince William, Duke of Cambridge in 2011 . He then worked in the films The Perfect Ex and The Raven - Prophet of the Devil .

He became better known in 2012 through the role of Ralph in the international miniseries The Gates of the World , which is based on the novel of the same name by Ken Follett . In 2013, he played the role of Roddy Temple alongside Jeremy Piven in six episodes of the drama series Mr Selfridge . He has appeared as journalist Jonathan Harker in the horror series Dracula , co-produced by NBC and Sky Living, since October 2013 , alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Count Dracula and Thomas Kretschmann as Abraham Van Helsing .
