Oliver Lembcke
Oliver W. Lembcke (born March 14, 1969 in Berlin ) is a German political scientist and university professor .
Life
Lembcke studied political science, law and history at the University of Kiel . In 1995 he came to the Chair of Political Theory at the University of Jena as a research assistant and stayed there until 2000. He then took part in various projects, including civic engagement, before starting in 2004 with the dissertation Guardian of the Constitution. An institute-theoretical study on the authority of the Federal Constitutional Court at the Jena University was awarded a doctorate . In the same year he took up his work as a research assistant at the chair for public law and legal philosophy. Subsequently, from 2007 onwards, he was a DFG scholarship holder in the Graduate School “Human Dignity and Human Rights”.
Lembcke was managing director of the Hellmuth Loening Center for Political Science from 2004 to 2013 and has been a board member there since 2013. Since 2008 he has been editing the POLITIKA series at Verlag Mohr Siebeck together with Rolf Gröschner . He also represented chairs at the universities of Leipzig and Jena and at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg . From 2011 to 2017 and again since 2019 he has held teaching positions at the Political Science Faculty of the University of Erfurt , from April 2018 to the end of September 2019 he represented Dietmar Herz's chair for comparative government theory . In addition, he represented the chair for political theory and the history of ideas at the University of Trier as a visiting professor and also taught at the Ludwigsburg University of Education . In 2019 he was awarded a 2nd prize for good teaching at the Political Science Faculty of the University of Erfurt. Since October 2019, Lembcke has represented half of the chair for comparative political science at the University of Kiel.
