The Omatako , also Omuramba-Omatako , is a rivier (Omuramba; dry river ) in the central north and northeast of Namibia . It rises south of Otjiwarongo in the Omatakobergen in the Otjozondjupa region and flows into the Okavango east of Rundu in the Kavango-East region near Shimeto ( constituency Ndonga Linena ) . It is dammed about 47 east of the Omatako Mountains by the Omatako Dam .
The Omatako takes its name from the Omatakobergen. "Omatako" means as much as " buttocks " in the Bantu language Otjiherero .
He last ran water in 2016.
