One Night Only is an English indie rock band from Helmsley , North Yorkshire . It consists of the five musicians Jack Sails, Mark Hayton, Daniel Parkin, James and George Craig. The band was formed in 2003 with Mark “Mittens” Hayton, Daniel “POB” Parkin, Sam “Gunner” Ford and Kai Smith.

The original line-up from 2003 did not have a singer. A friend of Sam Ford's younger brother, George Craig, who had often watched rehearsals, took over the singing a few times. When the band members officially asked him if he would like to become the lead singer, Craig only agreed on the condition that he could also play guitar. After a brief consideration, they released the previous guitarist Kai Smith from the band.
At first they played covers of bands like blink-182 and New Found Glory , but after a while Craig wrote the lyrics. His parents' divorce, friendship and relationship problems were dealt with in his songs. According to his own statements, relationships are also currently the subject of the texts. After two years, when they had already performed in almost all the pubs in their hometown Helmsley, Craig brought keyboardist Jack Sails to join them. They played in the north of England for over 18 months. With the expansion towards the south, a record deal was within reach. George finished school prematurely and from then on concentrated only on music. After ten more gigs across the country, A&R managers became aware of the band. To get everything right, they rehearsed for days. For a whole week they played three sets a day surrounded by important and influential people to sign with Vertigo Records in March 2007 . Then they began recording in the studio to record their first album, Started a Fire .
Started a Fire (2007-2008)
From August to September 2007 the band worked on their debut album Started a Fire , which was produced by Steve Lillywhite . Lillywhite was successful in the 1980s as a producer for new wave and rock bands such as Ultravox , U2 and Simple Minds . The album was released on February 4, 2008. Her first single You and Me was released in October 2007 and reached number 46 in the British charts . Much more successful was the second single Just for Tonight , which reached number nine. Her third single, It's About Time , didn't make it into the top ten. The fourth single, a re-release of You and Me , released on July 7, 2008, held number one in the independent charts for five weeks .
One Night Only (2008-2010)
The recordings for the second album One Night Only , which came out on August 23, 2010 and contains eleven songs, took two years . The single Say You Don't Want It was released on August 16, 2010 . The video for the song was shot in New York City in spring 2010 as a tribute to the cartoon Lady and the Tramp . During the production the band got support from the British actress Emma Watson . Craig and Watson, who worked together as models at Burberry until the summer of 2010 , met during a campaign for the clothing brand.
ONO Wednesdays
Following the success of their album Started a Fire , a video was shown on YouTube and MySpace showing the band members playing golf. After the success of this video, a new post appeared almost every Wednesday called ONO Wednesdays to keep fans informed. Some videos also contained excerpts from their album One Night Only .
