Onikişubat (German: February 12th ) is a district of the Turkish province of Kahramanmaraş founded in 2012 . It emerged from a division of the central city district ( Merkez ). Onikişubat covers the western parts of the city of Kahramanmaraş with the neighboring villages and has 371,394 inhabitants. In addition to the city of Kahramanmaraş, ten parishes and 71 villages belong to Onikişubat. The district was named after February 12, 1920, when the French occupiers left the city after resistance from the city's population.
