The Opština Berovo ( Macedonian Берово ) is an Opština of North Macedonia . Its administrative headquarters are in the city of Berovo . The Opština borders Bulgaria in the east , Pehčevo , Delčevo and Vinica in the north, Radoviš in the west, Bosilovo and Novo Selo in the south. At the 2002 census, the population was 13,941. Some of the inhabitants belong to the Roma ethnic group . Many small churches were built within the mountains. Small churches are still hidden particularly deep in the valleys, as the population feared that the churches would be destroyed after the conquest of the Ottoman Empire .
geography
The Berovo Opština is located in the upper part of the Bregalnica River , which crosses the Mačevo village. Another river that crosses the Opština area is the Flov. Lake Berovsko is located in the southeast of the Opština . In the south of Berovo is the up to 1352 m. i. J. high ridge Maleševski , in the western part of the Opština mountain Ana Plačkovica.
Berovo has a continental climate with high summer temperatures and a pronounced winter.

The Opština Berovo comprises nine localities: the town of Berovo and the villages of Budinarci , Dvorište , Mačevo , Mitrašinci , Ratevo , Rusinovo , Smojmirovo and Vladimirovo .
