Pehčevo ( Cyrillic Пехчево ) is a small town and a municipality in North Macedonia , near the border with Bulgaria .

The villages Umlena , Ciflik , Robovo , Negrevo , Crnik and Pancharevo also belong to this municipality .
geography
The city lies on the Pisa River, which flows into the Bregalnica River. Pehcevo is located in the southeast of the country in the Malesevo area , near the border with Bulgaria and is the easternmost municipality in the Republic of North Macedonia.
population
According to the 2002 census, the Pehcevo municipality has 5517 inhabitants, of which 4737 are Macedonians , 357 Turks , 390 Roma , 12 Serbs and 21 other minorities.
Culture
To the east of Pehcevo are the Bukovik and Kadiica mountains. Bukovik Mountain is rich in iron and other valuable minerals. There is an iron mine on Bukovik Mountain.
In the vicinity of Pehcevo, about 2.5 km away, there is the famous archaeological site and the Sweta Petka Monastery . Pehcevo is famous for its cheese (Malesevsko sirenje).
