Kavadarci ( Macedonian Кавадарци [ kaˈvadartsi ], Albanian Kavadar / i ) is a city in the central part of North Macedonia . It is the center of the Tikveš / Tivesh wine region and the capital of the Opština of the same name .

The city itself is between 230 and 270 m. ü. N. N. In Kavadarci there is a Mediterranean and continental climate with average air temperatures around 13.5 ° C, (in summer over 40 ° C and winter down to −25 ° C).

history
According to today's historians, the name of the city goes back to modern Greek »Kavadion« and means “noble cape”. Kavadarci is first mentioned in writing in the 16th century, but the numerous monasteries and churches in the Kavadarci area date back to the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries.
