Ora News began broadcasting as an aerial television on January 31, 2007 . The first change in the visual appearance and the program design took place in November 2007. Since August 25, 2008, Ora News can also be received via satellite via the provider Digitalb and thus worldwide. It is available on cable television in Albania, Kosovo , North Macedonia , Canada, and the United States .

Since September 1st 2010, Ora News has been the first Albanian broadcaster to broadcast live 24 hours a day. For this, investments had to be made in personnel, technology and locations. In 2010 the station opened studios in Durrës , Elbasan , Fier , Gjirokastra , Korça , Shkodra , Vlora as well as in Prizren (Kosovo) and Skopje (North Macedonia). The station also has a studio in Brussels . With a large fleet of mobile broadcast vehicles and a helicopter, Ora News is able to report from 42 different locations at the same time. The signal from the in-house radio station Ora News 96.7 FM can be received in the cities of Ballsh , Durrës, Fier, Elbasan, Gjirokastra, Kakavija , Lezha , Lushnja , Shkodra and Tirana as well as in Bari (Italy) and Janina (Greece).

Ora News has been producing polls in collaboration with an Italian polling institute since 2009. The election results were successfully predicted in both the 2011 and 2015 local elections and the 2009 , 2013 and 2017 parliamentary elections.

Popularity and reputation

In September 2017, Ora News, together with the Italian polling institute IPR Marketing, published an opinion poll on the Albanian television market for the first time in Albania.

In terms of both credibility and popularity, Ora News ranks third behind the two channels TV Klan and Top Channel , which, however, offer a full program. If you only look at the news channels, RTV Ora News is the most popular and credible source of information in the country for the Albanian population. In the important economic region of Tirana-Durrës, where over a third of the country's population lives, the channel is even more dominant. In Durrës County Ora News the most popular station is at all ranks and in Tirana County in second place. Split up by gender, the result is second place for women and third place for men. Placements in the top three are also achieved in all age groups. The precise opinion polls that Ora News has been carrying out prior to municipal and parliamentary elections in Albania since 2009 contribute significantly to the station's serious reputation. Most Albanians watched the election campaign and the results of the 2017 general election on Ora News. This is also due to the fact that 74% of TV viewers describe the reporting on political issues as neutral.
