Orbit-iEX

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Orbit-IEX was the most important computer exhibition of Switzerland . The Orbit , as it was called for short, took place annually in Zurich . It was created from a merger of the two previous trade fairs Orbit and Internet-Expo ( iEX ).

Together under the name ICT exhibition (of english i nformation and c ommunication t echnology , information and communication technology '), this concept was first held from 24 to 27 May of 2005. The reasons for the merger were obvious, as computer technology and the Internet can hardly be separated from one another and overlap in many areas.

History of orbit

The Orbit computer fair, which has always been the Swiss counterpart to CeBIT , has taken place in Basel every year since 1992 . In 2000 they teamed up with COMDEX , another annual computer fair in Las Vegas , called the Comdex Fall . Under this association and under the name Orbit / Comdex Europe , the aim was to address IT professionals in particular. It was designed as a B2B computer fair. The home area previously contained was moved to a second separate exhibition center, the Orbit Home , in Zurich .
