Egon Kaiser (born August 25, 1901 in Berlin ; † July 11, 1982 there ) was a German band leader and arranger .

Life

After studying music, Egon Kaiser worked at the Berlin State Opera from 1925 to 1926 and from 1925 to 1926 Kapellmeister at the Metropol-Theater . The violinist was a member of the Berlin Philharmonic from 1926 to 1929 .

On behalf of the Reichs-Rundfunk-Gesellschaft , he founded an entertainment and dance orchestra in 1929. He played in Berlin bars, but above all he orchestrated a large number of records and film compositions. Egon Kaiser and his orchestra were only mentioned irregularly on the records and in the film opening credits, but the orchestra can sometimes also be seen in the films. Egon Kaiser's orchestra can also be heard on records under the pseudonyms Mario Elki and Harry Hiller .
