Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai ( Japanese 俺 の 妹 が こ ん な に 可愛 い わ け が な い , Ger . "My little sister can't be so cute"), also known as Oreimo for short , is a light novel - Series by the author Tsukasa Fushimi , with illustrations by Hiro Kanzaki . The novel series has been adapted as a manga , a computer game and two anime television series, among other things .

action

The focus of the events is the four-member Kōsaka family. The actual clue is the relationship between the two siblings Kyōsuke Kōsaka ( 高 坂 京 介 , Kōsaka Kyōsuke ) and Kirino Kōsaka ( 高 坂 桐 乃 , Kōsaka Kirino ). While Kyōsuke is an almost adult ordinary student, his younger sister Kirino has a great secret to hide. She is secretly an enthusiastic otaku , which at this point nobody but her knows. The mood between the two is initially not the best and both always try to avoid each other, which in particular eats up Kyōsuke inside. By chance, however, he finds out Kirino's secret when she is looking for an eroge that she has previously forgotten in his room and Kyōsuke surprises her. Kirino then convinces her brother to help her keep her secret from her parents and school friends. She then shows him her entire collection, which consists largely of eroges, which thematize relationships between brother and little sister. Inevitably, Kyōsuke now has to deal with his sister's hobby. So Kirino urges him to play one of her eroges with her. Her reasoning was that she finally has someone with whom she can discuss her secret hobby.

Kyōsuke got the idea to look for more friends on the Internet who share the same hobby as his sister. Kirino is promptly invited to a so-called offline meeting. With Kyōsuke in tow, she meets Saori Makishima ( 槇 島 沙織 , Makishima Saori ) in a café , who she has invited to the meeting and who dresses and behaves like a stereotypical otaku, but actually comes from a rich and elegant family and the dimensions of the model Norika Fujiwara owns, as well as Ruri Gokō ( 五更 瑠 璃 , Gokō Ruri ), a girl who lives near Kirino. During a conversation, Kirino and Ruri clash because Ruri, who calls herself Kuroneko ( 黒 猫 ) and is dressed like a Gothic Lolita , has a completely different idea of anime than Kirino, which does not prevent her from being in with the group Keep in touch. On the same day, Kyōsuke manages to do Kirino's homework , playing through an eroge.

Kirino continues to meet with Saori and Kuroneko and is surprised that they don't have to hide their hobby. Unlike Daisuke Kōsaka ( 高 坂 大 介 , Kōsaka Daisuke ), Kirino's father, those around him accept her preferences. When he found out about Kirino's passion, he forbade her to continue practicing this hobby. But since she refuses to give it up, Kyōsuke stands up for her. He manages to convince his father that Kirino can continue her hobby by calling an eroge, which of course belongs to his sister, his own. This causes the family man, who is decidedly against such indecent games, to slap Kyōsuke in the face. When Kirino shows her brother a little gratitude in retrospect, which is extremely rare with Tsundere Kirino, Kyōsuke is surprised.

Kirino persuades her brother to play a beat-'em-up game with her that he has absolutely no experience with. This prompts him to get some tips from Saori to keep up with his sister. When Kirino visits her school friends, Saori brings a package for her that contains a collection of dōjinshi . However, since the packaging does not indicate the actual content, Kyōsuke Kirino hands the package over without paying any further attention to the whole thing. However, when he learns the true contents from a phone call from Saori, he tries to stop Kirino from opening the package in front of her friends in order to keep her hobby a secret. He gets into embarrassing situations that make him look pretty weird in front of Kirino's friends. But then he apologizes to one of Kirino's friends, Ayase Aragaki ( 新 垣 あ や せ , Aragaki Ayase ), who accepts this and then gives him her phone number. As an excuse , so to speak , Kyōsuke is allowed to accompany Kirino and her friends to the Comiket . When a special disc that Kirino really wanted suddenly sold out, Kuroneko won it in a beat-'em-up game competition. After the group left the mass, however, they met Ayase.

Because Ayase now strongly suspects that Kirino is hiding something from her, she puts her under pressure and ultimately finds out her secret. Because Ayase has seen a report that puts Otakus in a very bad light, she fears Kirino will behave in a similar way and forces her to choose her hobby or mutual friendship. After Kyōsuke discovers in a conversation with his father that the report, because of which Ayase wanted to give up her friendship with Kirino, contains misinformation, he tries to get Ayase to accept Kirino's hobby after all. He only succeeds in doing this after he selflessly campaigns for his sister, so that Ayase realizes that his friendship with her is very important to him and Kirino.

Kyōsuke is invited home by his childhood classmate and friend, Manami Tamura ( 田村 麻 奈 実 , Tamura Manami ), to try some Halloween candy from the family's own store. When someone in his class asks him that he and Manami are pretty close friends, he emphasizes that there is no romantic relationship between them. However, he mentions that he would not like it if she went out with someone else. At Manami's home he lets himself be persuaded to help with the preparations for the Halloween event. Because he is busy doing this until late in the evening, he also sleeps there. The grandfather of the Tamura family has a room set up so that Kyōsuke and Manami have to sleep next to each other, which causes the two to talk to each other. Kyōsuke says that if he were asked if he wanted a relationship, he would refuse in order to continue to follow his regular life. Meanwhile, Kirino is visibly frustrated that her brother is sleeping in Manami's house.

When Kirino read a Kuroneko fan fiction online, she decides to write one herself. As in many other subject areas, the two have fundamentally different views in the literature, which means another argument. To everyone's surprise, Kirino receives an offer from a publisher to publish her story. On Christmas Eve, she moves around with Kyōsuke under the pretext of gathering more ideas for her next story. A. Find different locations that she could use as the setting for her new novel. She then persuades him to buy her earrings for emotional support . However, when Kyōsuke says she would only ask for it to feel better, she empties a bucket of cold water over her own head to refute this. As a result of this action, they are forced to take a hotel room at short notice so that Kirino can dry himself and change clothes. On the way home again, she wears the earrings he gave her earlier.

Kirino's novel is becoming quite popular, which leads the publisher to adapt it as an anime. She then goes to the conference with Saori and Kuroneko to discuss the details with the producers. She is surprised that the production team wants to make some changes for the anime. The biggest problem for Kirino is that the main female character in her story should be turned into a young man. At the next meeting, out of desperation, Kyōsuke instead of Kirino, who persuades the production team to adopt more details from the original template. He can also convince Saori and Kuroneko to keep his meddling a secret from Kirino.

Kirino receives a long awaited eroge in the mail, which she promptly begins to play, regardless of the volume of her brother in the room next door. Meanwhile, Kuroneko takes care of her little sister at home, who like Kirino is a big Meruru fan. Saori is now preparing a party for Kirino and Kuroneko.
