The Oregon raspberry ( Rubus leucodermis ), also known as the white raspberry , is a species of the Rubus genus . The English name Blue Raspberry is often used in marketing . This species must not be confused with the black raspberry .

description

The Oregon raspberry reaches a height of up to 2.5 meters. The shoots of the plant have a silver-white bark . The shoots and leaves are covered with hook-shaped spines . The white-flowering plant forms its panicle-shaped inflorescences from the individual shoots between May (Mexico) and July (Canada) . Each flower has five sepals and petals and over twenty stamens and carpels. The bottom of the flower is strongly arched. The dark blue to black, tasty collective fruits develop from this .

distribution

The plant is native to western North America ; its distribution area extends from British Columbia in Canada south to California and a little further into Mexico , in an easterly direction the distribution area extends to Montana , Utah and Nevada . In Europe , the Oregon raspberry is occasionally sold for gardens.

use
