Orhan Kiliç

Orhan Kiliç (born October 19, 1974 in Berlin ; Turkish: Orhan Kılıç ) is a Turkish actor .

Life

Kiliç's parents come from Giresun in northeastern Turkey. As the youngest child, he grew up in modest circumstances. He received his acting training at the Hochschule der Künste (HdK Berlin). 2000–2001 he played theater for the Berlin company. On the side he worked in Berlin bars as a waiter and bartender to earn a living. From 2002–2004 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Stendal .

In 2004 he went to Turkey in search of his Turkish roots, where he initially only wanted to stay for two months. However, he immediately received an offer for the Turkish television series Herbstbrand ( Güz Yangını ), in which he was seen in the role of Sefa from 2005. 2006 followed in Turkey, the next leading role as a secret agent in the multi-part political thriller Silent Chamber ( Sağır Oda ). In Turkey, Kiliç became a popular television actor, where he became a crowd favorite and developed into a superstar of Turkish television. In his home country he is known as the "Turkish James Bond ".

After almost 11 years of living and working in Turkey, he returned permanently to Germany in 2015. He shot the television film Die Opfer - Vergesst mich nicht , produced by Das Erste , directed by Züli Aladağ , which ran as the second part of a trilogy called Mitten in Deutschland: NSU and was first broadcast on April 4, 2016 on ARD . Kiliç embodied the Turkish florist Enver Şimşek , next to Almila Bagriacik , who played his daughter Semiya, who became the first victim of the series of murders of the terrorist group “ National Socialist Underground ” (NSU) in Nuremberg in autumn 2000 .

In the SWR Tatort: ​​In the Promised Land (first broadcast: February 2016) Kiliç had a supporting role; he embodied the asylum seeker Jamal.

In the ZDF “Herzkino” film A Summer in Cyprus , which premiered in May 2017, he had one of the leading roles; alongside Ivan Anderson , he played the Cypriot textile export entrepreneur Aiven Basdekis, who learns that he has an 11-year-old son from a one-night stand with a German. In December 2017 Kiliç was seen in the ZDF series Der Kriminalist in an episode role; he played the Berlin social worker Harras Lehwald.

Kiliç has lived in Istanbul since 2005 ; In Berlin he also owns a small apartment in Berlin-Kreuzberg , which he kept during his time in Turkey. He has been married since 2010 and has one son.

Kiliç wrote the book Politik Futbol , which was published in 2017.
