The Orino is a roughly 16 km long left tributary of the Brenno in the Swiss canton of Ticino . It flows through the Val Malvaglia , a side valley of the Valle di Blenio , and drains an area of ​​around 72 square kilometers. The river only runs in the municipality of Serravalle .

The Orino rises at 2659  m above sea level. M. between Rheinwaldhorn and Logia below the Passo dei Cadabi , which leads into the valley of the Hinterrhein . Initially, it flows mainly in a south-easterly direction and takes in several streams. After the confluence of the Ri di Costa, it makes a larger curve to the southwest and flows into the Lago di Malvaglia reservoir . It leaves the lake again, flows through Orino near Malvaglia and flows out near Semione at 367  m above sea level. M. into the Brenno, which flows into the Ticino a little later .
