Orri Blöndal (born October 10, 1990 ) is an Icelandic ice hockey player who has been playing for the first ( Vikingar ) and second team ( Jötnar ) of Skautafélag Akureyrar in the Icelandic ice hockey league since 2010 .

Career

Orri Blöndal began his career as a hockey player with the Icelandic first division club Skautafélag Reykjavíkur , with whom he became Icelandic champion in 2006, 2007 and 2009 . In addition to his involvement in the Icelandic league, he also played a few games for the IK Pantern in the J20 Elit, the second highest Swedish junior class, in the 2008/09 season . In 2009 he left his home club and switched to record champions Skautafélag Akureyrar , with whom he promptly became champions again. Since 2010 he has played for the club's first team, SA Vikingar , with which he won his fifth Icelandic national championship title in 2013, and for the club's second team, SA Jötnar . In 2014, 2015 and 2016 he was able to win the Icelandic championship title.

International

In the junior division, Orri Blondal represented Iceland at the U-18 World Championships in 2006 (Division II), 2007 and 2007 and 2008 (both Division III) and at the U-20 World Championships in 2006 (Division III), 2007 , 2008 (both Division II) and 2010 (again Division III) on the ice.

For the men's national team , he played in Division II at the 2009 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 World Championships .
