Os (Hordaland)
Os was a municipality in the Norwegian Fylke Hordaland (2020 part of Vestland become). The administrative center of the municipality was in Osøyro. As part of the municipal reform in Norway , Os and Fusa were merged to form the new municipality of Bjørnafjorden on January 1, 2020 .
20,804 inhabitants lived on an area of 139 km² (as of January 1, 2019). The municipality number was 1243. The last mayor was Marie Lunde Bruarøy ( H ).
Os was on the peninsula south of Bergen . The neighboring communities were clockwise from the north: Bergen, Samnanger , Fusa, Tysnes , Austevoll and Sund .

Os Commune was founded in 1837. From 1837 to 1854 the municipalities of Fusa and Samnanger were part of Ous Herad .
The Nesttun-Os Railway was a narrow-gauge railway that went through Nesttun i Fana and Osøyro in Os Municipality. The railway line opened in 1894 and closed in 1935.

From south to north, the European route 39 ran through the municipality of Os. There were ferry connections south from Halhjem to Sandvikvåg in Fitjar municipality and to Våge in Tysnes municipality. A ferry went east from Hatvik to Venjaneset in Fusa commune.

- The ruins of the Lysekloster founded in 1146 .
- The villa of the Norwegian composer Ole Bull can be visited in Lysøen .
