Osage is a city and county seat in Mitchell County in the northeast of the US state Iowa . The city has 3451 inhabitants on an area of 5.4 km². Osage is on the east bank of the Cedar River in an agricultural area. 40% of the population are of German descent and 10% of Irish descent. The city was named after the Osage Indians.
