Oserne ( Ukrainian Озерне ; Russian Озёрное Osjornoje ; Romanian Babele ) is a village in Budschak in the southwest of Ukraine with about 5300 inhabitants (2006).
The village, founded in 1774, is the only place in the district council of the same name . Oserne (in German lake ) is located in Ismajil Rajon in Odessa Oblast north of the town of Nowa Nekrasiwka on the east bank of Lake Jalpuh .
Until 1947 the village was named Babel ( Бабель ), during the Romanian affiliation after 1918 it was renamed General-Al.-Averescu after the Romanian general Alexandru Averescu, who was born in the place .
