Osheaga

Osheaga Festival 2012

Osheaga is a three-day open-air festival for rock and pop music in the Canadian city of Montreal . It takes place annually, although no fixed date has yet been established (late July to early September). The festival takes place in Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène , an island in the Saint Lawrence River east of the city center.

The festival was held for the first time in 2006. The 2011 edition had over 80,000 spectators. Osheaga is a word from the Mohawk language that describes the region around Montreal.
