Oskar Klemmert

Oskar Klemmert (born November 7, 1925 in Würzburg ; † August 4, 2010 ibid) was a German politician, Lord Mayor of Kitzingen (1958–1967) and head of the representation of the Free State of Bavaria at the federal level (1968–1988).

Life

After returning from captivity in 1946, Klemmert studied Philosophy , Literature and Romance Studies at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and then Law . In 1949 he passed the first state examination and worked as a court trainee. In 1952 he was awarded a doctorate in Würzburg for his work "The formation and change of the federal government according to the Bonn Basic Law". iur. doctorate and passed the Great State Examination in 1953. From 1953 he worked first in the Federal Ministry of the Interior, later on in the German Bundestag in Bonn.

He was Lord Mayor of Kitzingen from May 1, 1958 to October 31, 1967. From 1968 to 1988, he was head of the Bavarian State Representation. He was a member of the Broadcasting Council of Deutschlandfunk in Cologne.

As a retiree, he earned a Magister Artium in Modern History at the University of Würzburg. He published numerous writings on the history of the Franconian region .

Oskar Klemmert was awarded, among other things, the gold seal of the city of Kitzingen, the Bavarian State Medal for special services to local self-government , the Bavarian Order of Merit and the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany . He had been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Markomannia Würzburg in the CV since 1948 , its first post-war senior in the winter semester 1948/49 and Philistine senior from 1969 to 1981.
