Ostroszowice (German Weigelsdorf ) is a village in the municipality of Dzierżoniów in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland. It is located at the eastern foot of the Owl Mountains .
history
Weigelsdorf was first mentioned in 1366 and was already described as a large parish village. It can be assumed that Weigelsdorf is identical to the earlier Burkhardsdorf, which was founded at the same time as the neighboring Lampersdorf around 1260 by locators. While Burkhardsdorf is no longer mentioned after 1316, a Weigandisdorff appears in the same place with the first mention of 1366 . The lords of Netz appear as owners of the village in the 16th century, who were inherited in 1757 by the lords of Seherr-Thoss ( counts from 1775 ).
One of the most important companies in Weigelsdorf until 1945 was the United Berliner Metall- und Holzmöbel-Fabriken AG , located in Oberdorf, near the train station. In the village there was still the Carl Möse sawmill and wheelwright, also known in the Owl Mountains for its ski production. In the district of Tannenberg, the weaving mill Friedrich Dierig from Langenbielau operated a branch.
As a result of the Second World War, Weigelsdorf fell to Poland in 1945 and was renamed Ostroszowice . The German population was expelled .
