Heinrich Leopold von Seherr-Thoß (born October 29, 1734 at Weigelsdorf Castle in Weigelsdorf , Duchy of Schweidnitz ; † June 23, 1804 ibid) was a large German landowner.

Heinrich Leopold von Seherr-Thoß was born as the son of Christoph Ernst von Seherr-Thoß (born February 14, 1700 in Olbersdorf ; † September 9, 1753 in Rietschütz near Gramschütz in the Principality of Glogau ) and his wife Johanna Elisabeth (born July 17, 1713 in Weigelsdorf; † October 24, 1741), a daughter of Adam Heinrich von Netz (1673–1739), owner of Weigelsdorf Castle, was born.

Heinrich Leopold von Seherr-Thoss was married to Charlotte Wilhelmine von (1735–1776), a daughter of Ferdinand Friedrich Wilhelm Zollikofer von Altenklingen (1699–1745), captain of the guard on foot. Together they had seven children, three of whom died early. Her daughters were:

  • Charlotte von Seherr-Thoß (born May 13, 1764; † August 15, 1815 in Hennersdorf), married to August Detleff von Schlippenbach (born July 4, 1736 in Schönermark; † 1810 in Silesia);
  • Henriette von Seherr-Thoß (born September 12, 1765; † unknown), married to Johann Bernhard von Manstein , major general ;
  • Wilhelmine von Seherr-Thoß (* 1770; † April 11, 1833 in Breslau), married to Friedrich Heinrich Carl von der Marwitz (* December 28, 1773; † June 16, 1816);

In his second marriage he was married to Catharine Wilhelmine Henriette (* August 10, 1745 in Lausigk; † April 25, 1811 in Weigelsdorf), she was the sister of his first wife. Her sons were:

  • Heinrich Leopold von Seherr-Thoß (born January 1, 1785, † August 18, 1837) inherited the lords of Bitschin and Kieferstädtel after his father's death and he was the founder of the older branch of the older count's house.
  • Ernst Heinrich Leopold von Seherr-Thoß (* August 4, 1786 in Dobrau ; † January 9, 1856 ibid), married to Agnes (* December 17, 1783 in Dessau; † October 17, 1832 in Dobrau), a daughter of Johann Justus by Loën (1737–1803) and by Henriette Katharina Agnes von Anhalt-Dessau . The grandson Arthur Seherr Thoss (1820–1898) took part in the liberation of the peasants in Hungary and was later a member of the Hungarian Reichstag;
  • Hans Carl von Seherr-Thoß (* unknown; † 1809), married to Louise Henriette von Paczensky . He was so badly injured in a battle near Jena in 1806 that he died three years later and inherited Weigelsdorf Castle, which passed to his brother Ernst after his death.

One of the later descendants was Hans Christoph von Seherr-Thoss , who was the archivist of the ADAC library .

Act

He was lord of Weigelsdorf, Dobrau, Kieferstädtel, Bitschin, Hertwigswalde , Schönheide in the district of Frankenstein , Quickendorf and Moschen , Ober- Landmundschenk in Silesia and director of the Principality of Münsterberg- Frankenstein and the most important agricultural entrepreneur of the family. He was not satisfied with the rule of Weigelsdorf, which his maternal grandmother relinquished on September 29, 1757, and three villages in the vicinity were named after those of Seherr-Thoß, but acquired five large estates in Upper Silesia between Opole and Gleiwitz , including Dobrau (1779 ) with the Dobrau Castle , Bitschin (1790) with the Tatischau and Kieferstädtel estate near Gleiwitz (1796) as well as Schönheide, Quickendorf, Ober- and Nieder-Pomsdorf in the district of Frankenstein, Hertwigswalde , Alt-Altmannsdorf and the gentlemen Moschen, Jamke and Puschine im Falkenberg district .
