Oswald Bärwinkel

Oswald Bärwinkel (born July 29, 1920 in Leipzig ; † November 3, 2006 there ) was General Director of the Buna Chemical Combine in the GDR from 1970 to 1982 and President of the German Boxing Association of the GDR (DBV) in 1969/70 .

Life

Bärwinkel, son of a merchant , was after the elementary school as an assistant mechanic worked and was in the German 1940 army moved in. He fought in World War II until 1945 and shortly before the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the Soviets , from which he was released in 1949. In 1947/48 he attended an anti-fascist school in Rostov .

After returning to Germany, he worked as a transport worker until 1950 and was then a full-time functionary of the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) until 1953 . In 1952 Bärwinkel became a member of the SED . In 1953 Bärwinkel switched to the Leuna works in Halle (Saale) as a clerk and from 1954 worked as a track and transport worker at the Bitterfeld lignite works.

In 1955 Bärwinkel became head of department and labor director in the Coswig chemical plant and in 1956 head of department in the main administration for heavy chemicals in the GDR's Ministry of Chemical Industry . From 1955 to 1960, Bärwinkel completed a distance learning course at the University of Leipzig and obtained a diploma in economics . From 1960 to 1967 and then again in 1969/70 he was Labor Director of the Wolfen film factory .

In 1967/68 Bärwinkel was a student at the party college of the CPSU in Moscow and in 1970 became general director of the Buna chemical works in Schkopau and in 1971, as successor to Hans Singer , of the GDR-wide chemical combine. In 1982 Bärwinkel retired .

In 1969/70 Bärwinkel was President of the German Boxing Association of the GDR (DBV).
