Otakare

The Otakare are an extinct dynasty of counts who were mainly resident in Chiemgau , Traungau and Karantanien and Styria .

Aribo I. († after 909), Count im Traungau (871–909), Margrave of the Ostmark , married perhaps to a sister of Archbishop Pilgrim of Salzburg and / or to a sister of Count Wilhelm II and Engelschalk I.

(† 907/923, killed in the Battle of Pressburg ), 904 Count in Carantania -Leobental, married to a daughter Aribos von der Ostmark, sometimes identified with Rihni, who was widowed Adalbert / Odalbert, later Archbishop from Salzburg got married. In this case Odalbert would not be the son of Ottokar / Otakar I. Other sources name a Count Engelbert († around 890) as father for the last four.
