Otto Freundl

Otto Freundl (born November 13, 1912 in Waldsassen ; † March 17, 1982 in Bad Reichenhall ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

After completing a commercial apprenticeship (1925–1928) Otto Freundl initially worked in his parents' business in Waldsassen before moving to Freiburg im Breisgau as a commercial clerk . Since 1928 he was involved in the Catholic youth movement . From 1937 to 1940 Freundl was an executive at Radio RIM .

In 1959 he received the Bavarian Order of Merit . In 1965 he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Political party

Otto Freundl was a co-founder of the CSU local group in Waldsassen.

Parliamentary work

Otto Freundl was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 1946 to 1970 (1st to 6th electoral term).

  • Election 2 (1950–54): Vice-Chairman of the Borderland Committee.
  • Election 3 (1954–58): Chairman of the Committee on Frontier Affairs.
  • Election period 4 (1958–62): Member of the Bavarian State Health Council and the Advisory Board for Reparation at the State Compensation Office.
  • Election period 5 (1962–66): Member of the State Health Council.
  • Election period 6 (1966–70): Member of the Council of Elders (until 1967) and the Advisory Board for Reparation at the State Compensation Office.

Public offices

Otto Freundl held office from 1946 to 1948 and from 1966 to 1972 as district administrator of the Tirschenreuth district , and from 1948 to 1966 as deputy district administrator.
