Otto Meyer (industrialist, 1865)

Otto Meyer (born September 19, 1865 in Beverstedt ; † 1939 ) was a German civil engineer and manager in the construction industry .

Life

Otto Meyer attended the Domgymnasium in Verden (Aller) . After graduating from high school, he studied eight semesters at the Technical University of Hanover and became a member of the Corps Ostfalia . In 1891 he became an employee of the City Planning Department in Strasbourg . In 1893 he joined the construction company Freytag & Heidschuh , which later traded under Wayss & Freytag . Meyer was a member of the board of directors since converting to a stock corporation in 1900 and has been the company's general manager since 1912 .

Meyer was chairman of the Reichsverband industrial construction companies , board member of the German concrete association , member of the German committee for reinforced concrete , member of the state committee for Baden and the Palatinate of the Deutsche Bank and Disconto-Gesellschaft and board member of the Palatinate industrial association . He was a member of the supervisory boards of C. Baresel AG , Rheinische Creditbank and Hollandschen Credietbank AG . His first marriage was to Emilie Freytag, a daughter of the contractor Conrad Freytag . After her death he married Emma Stoffers. He had a son from his first marriage and a daughter from his second marriage.
