Otto Stromeyer

Otto Stromeyer (born July 7, 1881 in Konstanz , † December 25, 1943 in Weimar ; full name: Otto Hermann Rodolf Stromeyer ) was a German engineer , entrepreneur and newspaper publisher .

Life

Otto Stromeyer, son of the Konstanz entrepreneur Ludwig Stromeyer and his wife Annemarie Stromeyer born. After graduating from high school in Konstanz, Merian studied engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe , where he became a member of the Corps Frisia . After completing his studies, he gained his first professional experience in his father's company L. Stromeyer & Co. in Konstanz. Then he went abroad for eight years. He took part in the First World War as a battery chief and column leader. In 1926 he became a co-owner of the Bamberg tobacco factory Johann Peter Raulino & Co. and the JM Reindl company , the publishing house and printing company of the Bamberger Tagblatt .

Stromeyer was chairman of the supervisory board of Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG and Süddeutsche Terrain-AG , based in Munich. He also worked as an amateur art historian . From 1917 until the divorce in 1939 he was married to Lilly Freiin von Michel-Raulino (1892–1973). The marriage produced three sons. Lilly von Michel-Raulino married Willy Messerschmitt for the second time in 1951 .
