Otto von Campenhausen

Otto Freiherr von Campenhausen (born February 7, 1932 in Burg Schwarzenfels ) is a German lawyer. From 1989 to 1997 he was President of the Church Office of the EKD .

Career

Otto von Campenhausen attended schools in East Prussia and Hesse until 1952 . From 1952 to 1956 von Campenhausen was a scholarship holder of the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst and studied law in Marburg and Kiel . From 1957 to 1989 Otto worked from Camphausen in the service of the country Schleswig-Holstein and in Lüneburg as a prosecutor , Councilor and magistrate , he was court director in Eckernförde , vice president of the regional court in Kiel and since 1980 as president of the district court Itzehoe operates. In 1989 he was appointed President of the EKD Church Office by the EKD Council.
