Otto von Dellemann

Otto von Dellemann (born June 6, 1953 ) is a German-speaking Italian politician from South Tyrol .

biography

Von Dellemann grew up in St. Michael in Eppan and attended the teacher training institute (LBA) in Meran . After graduating from high school in 1972, he worked as a secondary school teacher in Mölten and Terlan until 1985 . He then headed the Kolping Society of South Tyrol as Central Secretary until his retirement in 2016 .

For the first time, von Dellemann took over a political office in 1980, when he was elected to the council of Andrian and immediately became vice mayor. From 1985 to 2010 he was mayor of the municipality. In 2000 von Dellemann took over the chairmanship of the senior citizens' movement of the South Tyrolean People's Party . In the 2008 elections , he initially missed a place in the South Tyrolean state parliament and thus at the same time the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol , but was able to move up after Michl Laimer's resignation on November 6, 2012. In the state elections in 2013 , von Dellemann stood for election again, but with 6,833 preferential votes only placed 18th on the list of the SVP, which was able to win 17 seats. After Dieter Steger was elected to the Italian parliament , however, he was able to move up to the state parliament a second time on April 10, 2018. In the state elections in 2018 that followed a few months later , he did not run and subsequently retired from active politics.
