Otto Dulitz , von Dulitz since 1900 (born September 6, 1847 in Salow , † August 28, 1912 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian artillery general .

Life

Dulitz took part in the war against France in 1870/71 and was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class. In the further course of his military career he advanced to captain and battery chief in the 2nd Brandenburg Field Artillery Regiment No. 18 (General Feldzeugmeister) at the end of October 1885 and was later Chief of the General Staff of the VII Army from February 17, 1894 to October 17, 1895 Corps in Munster . Subsequently, Dulitz acted as commander of the field artillery regiment No. 34 in Metz . In position à la suite of this regiment, he was appointed commander of the 6th Field Artillery Brigade in Breslau on May 24, 1898 . Shortly afterwards he was promoted to major general on June 15, 1898 and was given command of the Guard Field Artillery Brigade on April 18, 1899 . With the division of this large formation and the formation of the 2nd Guards Field Artillery Brigade , Dulitz was appointed its first commander with effect from October 1, 1899.

On the occasion of the turn of the century , Wilhelm II raised Dulitz to hereditary nobility on January 1, 1900 .

On May 8, 1901, he was commissioned with the leadership of the 5th Division in and appointed Dulitz on June 16, 1901 while being promoted to Lieutenant General to Division Commander. He gave up this command on April 9, 1906, was then promoted to general of the artillery and appointed inspector general of the foot artillery . In approval of his resignation request , Dulitz was put up for disposal on December 12, 1911 with the statutory pension .

After his farewell , Wilhelm II made him Knight of the Order of the Black Eagle on December 19, 1911 . Dulitz died the following year. On the occasion of his death, all officers of the foot artillery and the 2nd Lorraine Field Artillery Regiment No. 2 had to mourn for three days by order of the king.
