The Oudan is a river in France that runs in the Loire department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Monts de la Madeleine , near the hamlet of Sallien , in the municipality of Renaison , generally drains in an easterly direction and after around 18 kilometers flows into the Loire as a left tributary in the northern urban area of Roanne . In the opening section of Oudan the crosses navigation canal Canal de Roanne à Digoin .

The river runs north of Roanne Airport.

Attractions

The Canal de Roanne à Digoin is crossed via a canal bridge called Pont Pisserot . The peculiarity is that here the river crosses the canal and not the other way around, as is usual. The bridge was built in 1897 by Léonce-Abel Mazoyer .
