The PD Group is a German group of companies consisting of 24 companies from different industries. The PD Group is the largest independent corporate group in Saxony.
history
As managing director of a civil engineering company in the Westphalian town of Minden collected Heinz-Jürgen P reiss - D aimler (1939–2020) already from 1976 experience on large industrial construction sites in the GDR ( Buna-Werke , Eisenhüttenkombinat Ost , Robotron ) and from 1990 bought a total of 17 East German companies from the Treuhandanstalt , some of which became core elements of the PD Group Group emerged from the synergy effects of cross-company cooperation. The main industries are the manufacture of fiberglass and fiberglass , and the like. a. for the manufacture of automobiles and aircraft as well as the manufacture of refractory materials . In addition, the industrial group also has companies in the field of environmental technology, landfill and construction.
The company headquarters are in Wilsdruff in Saxony.
In 2001 the company Chemiepark Bitterfeld-Wolfen went to the group and in 2003 it took over the majority of the shares in Interglas-Technologies AG . According to the Industry Association of Saxony, the PD Group employed 7,000 people worldwide in 2003, generating sales of around 730 million euros.
In 2013, ChemiePark Bitterfeld Wolfen GmbH was sold to Gelsenwasser AG , and in 2015 the subsidiary Stahlbau Calbe went bankrupt. In 2017, Interglas-Technologies was acquired by Porcher Industries.
