The steam locomotives of the genus C VI were 1899-1905 for the Bavarian Royal National Railways built for freight service on flat land routes.

description

The machines were very similar to the Prussian type G 5.4, which was first put into service two years later , but had a higher boiler overpressure and better running properties. The Bavarian State Railways purchased a total of 83 units of this type. 37 further, slightly modified machines were put into service between 1907 and 1909 as G 3/4 N. The Deutsche Reichsbahn took over 64 locomotives of the class C VI and 32 locomotives of the class G 3/4 N. These were given the operating numbers 54 1301-1364 and 54 1401-1432. The vehicles of the 54 13 series were in service until 1931, those of the 54 14 series until 1935. The class C VI and G 3/4 N locomotives were coupled to a bay 2'2 'T 18 type tender.
