The gmina wiejska Pabianice [ pabʲa'ɲiʦɛ ] is an independent rural municipality in Poland in the powiat Pabianice in the Łódź Voivodeship . Its seat is in the city of Pabianice ( German Pabianitz ). The rural community, to which the town of Pabianice itself does not belong, has an area of ​​87.7 km², on which (as of June 30, 2019) 7526 people live.

The rural community is located 15 kilometers southwest of Łódź . 72% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 16% is covered with forest.

history

Until 1954 the rural community was called Górka Pabianicka . From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the smaller Łódź Voivodeship (1975–1998) .
