Packard Light Eight, Series 9, Model 900 (1932)

The Packard Light Eight refers to a series of 8-cylinder automobiles that the Packard Motor Car Company in Detroit only manufactured in the 1932 model year.

In order to counter the changed consumer behavior due to the global economic crisis , Packard brought out an inexpensive model in the 9th series (model 900). The car had an in-line eight-cylinder engine with vertical valves and a displacement of 5199 cm³, which made 110 bhp (81 kW). The vehicles were thus able to reach speeds of up to 115 km / h. There were only four different bodies on the chassis with a 3245 mm wheelbase: a coupé-roadster with 2-4 seats, a coupé with 2-4 seats, a 5-seat sedan and a 5-seat coupé-sedan.

Since the car was far too expensive for the intended clientele at US $ 1750–1795, only 6750 vehicles were sold and the model was discontinued after only one year.
