Padiae is located in the Suco Lalisuc of the Pante Macassar Administration Office , on the banks of the Tono River , at an altitude of 506 m . The place has the status of an Aldeia .
The road from Pante Macassar to Pasar Tono and on to Oesilo leads through the village . Padiae has a preschool and a primary school ( Escola Primaria Padiae ).
Residents
The inhabitants belong to the Atoin Meto ethnic group , which makes up the majority of the population in the west of the island of Timor .
economy
The place name "Padiae" is derived from the Malay word "padi air" , which means "rice field". The reason is the local rice fields, which are among the most fertile in the community.
The place is known for its strong palm wine, Sopi .
