history

NGV Asco

The ship was built by the shipyard Chantiers Leroux et Lotz Naval as NGV Asco . The keel was laid on September 30, 1994, the launch on June 6, 1995. On March 26, 1996, the ship was delivered to Société Nationale Maritime Corse-Méditerranée and sailed under the flag of France with its home port of Calvi . It was used from April 20, 1996 between Nice , Livorno and Corsica . In the summer season 2002 the ship operated the route Almería - Ghazaout , in the summer season 2003 Almería - Oran .

Panagia Parou

In May 2005 Ventouris Ferries bought the ship and used the ship as Panagia Parou in Greece. It sailed under the flag of Greece with its home port in Piraeus . After the ship was laid up in Lavrion from September 2005 , it was used in the 2006 summer season on the Lavrio - Paros - Naxos - Katapola Amorgos route.

Red Sea II

In February 2007, NEL Lines bought the ship, then Waves Shipping SA took over the ship and renamed it Red Sea II . The ship sailed under the flag of Malta with its home port Valletta .

Panagia Parou

In January 2010 the ship was renamed Panagia Parou again . From July 2010, European Seaways chartered the ship and operated it on the Bari - Durres route until the end of August 2010 . From September to October 2010 it was used on the Heraklion - Santorini route. From mid-October 2010, the ship was launched in Perama . From April to September 2011 it was used on the route Agios Konstantinos - Skiathos - Skopelos - Alonisso . In July 2012 Inter Lines chartered the ship and operated it between Algeciras and Tanger-Med from August to the end of 2012 . It was then launched in Algeciras.

Sinking and scrapping

On April 20, 2017, the ship leaked in the port of Algeciras and sank the following day. On September 5, 2017, Ardentia Marine began salvaging the ship. It was erected again and made floatable by October 2017. On December 14, 2017, the wreck was auctioned for 366,000 euros to the Turkish company Bright Sunset Co. SA. On June 23, 2018, the ship left the port of Algeciras in tow with World Tug 1 . The tug arrived in Aliaga on July 16, 2018, where the Panagia Parou is to be scrapped.
