Pando is a city in southern Uruguay .
The municipality of Pando has also existed since 2010. 32,927 inhabitants live in the municipal area of 114.9 km².
geography
The city is located in the department of Canelones in sector 27 . It is located 24 km northeast of the state capital Montevideo and 10 km northwest of the coast of the Río de la Plata . The city center is 28 m above sea level. d. M. East of the city flows the Arroyo Pando , both sides of which located in the northeast of the Parque Municipal General Artigas extends.
history
Pando was founded on August 5th, 1780. On August 5, 1920 Pando was the Ley 7252 to Ciudad appointed (city).
Infrastructure
education
Pando has two secondary schools ( Liceo ). These are Liceo Nº 1 de Pando "Dr. LA Brause" , founded on April 15, 1944, and Liceo Nº 2 de Pando , which began teaching in 2002. Pando is also the seat of the Escuela Militar de Aeronáutica , the air force school of the Fuerza Aérea Uruguaya .

Pando is on the Ruta 8 highway , which leads from Montevideo to Aceguá on the northern border of the country.

Since 1997 there has been a railway museum in Pando, the Museo Ferroviario Don Eduardo Hernández Peña .
