Paola Morán Errejón (born February 25, 1997 in Guadalajara ) is a Mexican athlete who specializes in the 400-meter distance and also competes in the 400-meter hurdles .

Athletic career

Paola Morán gained her first international experience at the Central America and Caribbean Junior Championships 2014 in Morelia , where she won the gold medal in the U18 age group in the 400-meter hurdles in 62.18 s and over 100 meter hurdles with 14.36 s took sixth place. She also qualified over 400 m hurdles for the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , where she was first in the B final in 59.74 s. In 2015 she was eliminated from the Pan American Games in Toronto with the Mexican 4 x 400 meter relay with 3: 32.29 minutes in advance and then finished fourth over 400 in 53.10 seconds at the Pan American Junior Championships in Edmonton Meters and couldn't finish her final run over the hurdles there. The following year she was eliminated from the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz with 53.08 s in the semifinals over 400 meters. In 2017 she took part in the Summer Universiade in Taipei for the first time , where she finished seventh over 400 meters in 52.96 seconds, and won the silver medal behind Poland in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 33.98 minutes and was fourth with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 44.79 s. Two years later, she won the Universiade in Naples in 51.52 s over 400 meters and also secured the silver medal behind Ukraine with the 4 x 400 meter relay. At the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019 , she won the silver medal over 400 meters behind the Jamaican Shericka Jackson with a new best time of 51.02 seconds . In October she reached the semi-finals at the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated with 51.08 s.

In 2016, 2017 and 2019, Morán was the Mexican champion in the 400-meter run and in 2019 also over the 400 m hurdles. In 2016, she also secured the title with the 4 x 100 meter relay and the 4 x 400 meter relay.
