brothel

The brothel is close to the Stuttgart Exhibition Center and Stuttgart Airport . It was created by converting a warehouse and has an area of 5800 square meters, spread over five floors. The investments totaled six million euros. The brothel has a range of wellness offers, for example a sauna . The facility is visited by 56,000 customers annually. The women's magazine Emma estimates sales at around 5 million euros. The management reports on “an in-house gynecologist”, two women's representatives and a round table at which regular discussions take place with the regulatory authority, the financial administration and the local police.

In June 2013, ARD broadcast a documentary about the brothel and the profits from prostitution. This documentation also reported on tendencies in sex tourism in this brothel due to one of the most liberal legislations in the world. The operator Jürgen Rudloff was invited to the ARD television program Günther Jauch in November 2013. The invitation was criticized in the feminist magazine Emma .

Companies

The Paradise Island Entertainment GmbH is led by Jürgen Rudloff. The company operates or is planning further locations with independent operating companies, for example a large brothel with 4500 m² opened on July 3, 2014 in the Burbach district of Saarbrücken with a focus on French customers. On Sylt , the company planned a brothel in a former cinema building by early 2014; but after local resistance the project was dropped. Other locations include Graz-Liebenau in Austria and Frankfurt am Main .

Processes

In June 2009, a pimp was sentenced to six and a half years imprisonment for aggravated human trafficking , pimping and, in a second case, for aggravated assault . He had forced his girlfriend, who was 18 at the time of the crime, into prostitution in Paradise, among other places.

In November 2014, 900 officers searched the Paradise and three other large brothels in Rudloff, business premises and apartments. The executive director and marketing director of Paradise were arrested, as well as two prostitutes and a 21-year-old man. The man who was a member of the rocker gang United Tribuns and the two prostitutes were convicted of human trafficking in August 2015; Together with another United Tribuns member, they used the “loverboy” method to employ two 18- and 19-year-old women into prostitution. a. in paradise, crowded and monitored.

Jürgen Rudloff has been in custody in Stuttgart since September 27, 2017 because of the risk of escape and blackout. Since March 2018, proceedings against the brothel boss Rudloff, marketing boss Michael Beretin and the former managing director of one of the four brothels have been running before the Stuttgart regional court. The charges are "commercial fraud", "aiding and abetting serious human trafficking and pimping" and "attempted commercial and gang promotion of human trafficking". According to the public prosecutor's office, the rocker clubs Hells Angels and United Tribuns are in control of the Paradise brothels and have women there. The pimps of the rocker clubs collect the women's money. In order to document their claim to ownership, many women in the brothels wear tattoos with the first names of their pimps. Women who want to get out are beaten and threatened. The brothel boss and his employees would have known about the actions of the rockers, approved this and had business with them for years. Eleven people from the United Tribuns and Hells Angels have already been charged and sentenced to between one and six years in prison.

At the trial, a woman who used to work as a prostitute at Paradise testified that the United Tribuns often abused her wives. A telephone surveillance revealed that Rudloff knew that the Vice President of the United Tribuns, Nermin Culum, had several women work for him at Paradise.

Rudloff and the former managing director of one of the four brothels are also accused of having fraudulently damaged investors and lenders by more than three million euros in a kind of pyramid scheme. Only part of the money went to new brothel projects, as agreed, while the majority was used privately.

The marketing director Michael Beretin, who was also accused in the proceedings, is known as a puff tester of the RTL-2 program Exklusiv - Die Reportage . There Beretin advises run-down brothels. Beretin was last charged with assault in February 2017 and sentenced to six months in prison. It was his tenth conviction in a German court.

There was a first conviction in December 2018. The manager was sentenced to two years suspended prison sentence for aiding and abetting human trafficking and sexual exploitation after making a full confession.

After an agreement between the defense, prosecution and court in February 2019, the defendants made a confession. Rudloff said that he never wanted to harm women, but that he used his contacts in the rocker milieu to get more women; he accepted the abuse of women by their pimps and closed his eyes to it.

The court thereupon sentenced Rudloff to a prison term of five years for aiding and abetting pimping, aiding and abetting in serious human trafficking and fraud. Michael Beretin received three years and three months' imprisonment for aiding and abetting pimping, aiding and abetting trafficking in human beings, fraud and aiding and abetting fraud. Rudloff's former tax advisor received a suspended sentence of one year and four months for aiding and abetting fraud. The proceedings showed that between March 2008 and December 2014 at least 17 prostitutes in the two brothels were exposed to violent attacks by human traffickers and pimps. The judge said "A clean brothel of this size is inconceivable". Brothel managers would have to be held accountable if they "approved that traffickers and pimps sent women to a brothel"; even if the operators had no knowledge of the specific harassment, the judge said.
