Parashuram ( Nepali परशुराम ) is a city ( municipality ) in the far west of Nepal in the Dadeldhura district .

The city was created on December 2nd, 2014 by merging the Village Development Committees Jogbuda and Sirsha . The urban area covers 41.4 km². The name is derived from the mythological figure Parashurama . The city lies in the Inner Terai at an altitude of 500  m . The urban area borders on the Mahakali ( Sharda ) River to the west . In the south, the Siwalik chain forms the boundary to the Kanchanpur district .

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Parashuram had 34,983 inhabitants (16,974 of them male) in 5,990 households.
