Paris is a town in the US state of New York . Paris is located in Oneida County south of Utica and has 4411 inhabitants (as of 2010). The city was named after Colonel Isaac Paris.

history

The town was originally part of Whitestown and became independent in 1792. The city was given its name in memory of Colonel Isaac Paris, a merchant and benefactor from Fort Plain, New York, who generously supplied the region with grain and food in 1789.

The city has an area of ​​81.5 km². 81.4 km² of this is land and 0.03% is water. The Sauquoit Creek drains most of the Town of Paris and flows through its area first eastwards and then northwards. The highest point in Oneida County is Tassel Hill. It is east of New York State Route 12 on the border with Bridgewater , Marshall and Sangerfield , in the far southwest of the district.
