Andreas and Olaf have been best friends since they went to school together. After they parted ways, they now meet again. They both work in the same sugar factory: Olaf is the managing director there and Andreas is a manager. Andreas married his childhood sweetheart Manu more than ten years ago, with whom he now has a son. Olaf is actually a daredevil guy who has been married to Doreen for a long time. At a communal barbecue party, Olaf makes a surprising proposal to swap partners. He thinks their relationships could use a little boost. Manu laughs out loud to hide her shock, Doreen is indignant, and Andreas holds back his opinion. Still, they are seriously considering the proposal. Manu tries to convince Andreas that swapping partners could bring certain advantages. After initial hesitation, Doreen finally speaks out in favor of it. Andreas is still not really enthusiastic about this idea. But since everyone seems to be in agreement, he also agrees in the end. You set an appointment and agree not to talk about this night afterwards. Andreas is the only one who tries to undo this appointment while the others are actively preparing for it. Olaf packs a suitcase with different sex toys and drives it to Manu, while Andreas and Doreen want to spend the night in a hotel. He suspects that this one night will change the lives of the four forever.

Reviews

“What a shame, with a little more courage it could have been a cheeky, snappy comedy about the chaos of marriage and love. But story and characters don't dare a step too far. So it remains a leisurely farce that seems to constantly apologize for its topic. Director Schmidt ("Cubans kiss better") can do it - better. "

“It's a shame that this“ dramedy ”[...] fails in both the comedic and the dramatic. Not pointed, not disreputable, not sexy and in the end not consistent and bad enough either, this film is to do justice to the simple but intriguing basic idea. "

- Frank Rauscher

“The film now faces the difficulty of taking the four protagonists' command of silence seriously and yet reporting everything and more that happens between and within its characters. And he, or author Don Schubert and the director, solve this task brilliantly. Everything that can follow from a single deviation in a constellation of four is, mathematically speaking, in the exponential range [...] "I would never think of spending a night with someone other than Manu." But you just didn't listen to him. Fortunately. Otherwise we wouldn't have this enjoyable comedy, which is especially convincing because its background is very serious. "
