Patkul (noble family)
Patkul is the name of a German-Baltic noble family .
history
The Patkul family is the Livonian nobility attributed and appears first documented with Andreas Patkulle, vassal of the Teutonic Order on 10 January 1385. The accession to the Swedish nobility took place in 1635, raising the Swedish baron in 1716 († 1723). The family was enrolled in all four Baltic knighthoods. In 1718 Rutger Andreas Patkul was land rent master of Over-Yssel , whether he had descendants in Holland cannot be found in the historical literature. The family later flourished in Russia .

Family coat of arms : The shield shows three black towers next to each other on a golden background, the middle one of which towers above the others. On the helmet with black and gold covers: two buffalo horns divided across the corner by gold and black.
